Position Title:            Strategic Account Manager – Utah

Position Overview

Electrical Marketing Solutions (EMS) is seeking candidates for an outside sales professional to join our team calling on the distribution market and their key customer base.

Responsibility includes growing the $8+Million existing base through specific and strategic planning with each distributor for each manufacturer that we represent.

This position reports directly to the director of sales for EMS and will have direct interface with EMS’s team of Business Development Managers (BDM) and Inside Sales (IS) professionals.

The outside sales position will travel to new and existing accounts within the territory and work closely with our manufacturer partners to establish clearly defined goals and objectives. The only travel out of territory will be for training, customer visits, meetings, and entertainment.

Major Duties

  • Analyze market data in order to understand opportunities
  • Create and execute market strategies that will capitalize on the identified opportunities
  • Develop and maintain relationships with existing distributor partners
  • Create and execute annual sales and marketing plans
  • Serve as the liaison between customer and manufacturer
  • Work with our inside sales team to maximize effectiveness in the market

Minimum Qualifications

  • Electrical industry sales related experience
  • Excellent customer service and business communication skills
  • Ability to perform effectively in high-pressure situations while maintaining focus
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Enthusiasm for solving problems
  • Life-long learner

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Utah Electrical Distributors and their customers
  • Understanding of the dynamics of the Utah electrical marketplace
  • Understanding of the dynamics of the macro electrical market

EMS has been a recognized leader in representing manufacturers throughout Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, W. Nebraska and Nevada since 1975.

The company began with two aggressive salespeople and just a few lines over 40 years ago.
