Our Story

The company began with two aggressive salespeople and just a few lines over 40 years ago.

EMS has seen a number of changes though the years, including opening a stocking warehouse in the 1980s, closing it in the 1990s, and moving into our own 10,000 square foot facility in 2005. Throughout all the changes, our focus on providing our customers and manufacturers the best possible service has never changed.

Our organization has grown over the years to 16 sales professionals and we’ve been able to demonstrate value, to our manufacturers, distributors and end users alike in the Residential, Commercial, Industrial, and Utility markets.

In 2009 ABB contracted with EMS to represent their Power Products/Power Systems and Low Voltage Products and Systems. This allowed EMS to hire a team of professionals with experience in selling power distribution systems for Low Voltage and Medium Voltage applications. Our goal has been to drive demand at the end user level and to service that demand through distribution.

This model has proven so successful that we have replicated it throughout other business units and now have added 3 Business Development Managers (BDMs).

EMS consistently reviews our sales deployment as we strive to best cover our large geography. Currently, we rely upon our dedicated sales force of seasoned professionals who are responsible for facilitating all of our distribution’s needs. They are committed to understanding the unique demands of each of our customers in all of the markets we serve.

In today’s world of electronic communication, we still believe that a hand shake will never go out of fashion.
